Any student wishing to participate in an exchange program, according to the academic cooperation agreement established between the two universities, must comply, through the Office of International Relations of their own institution, with the following instructions.

Applying to Universidad del Rosario
Documents to be submitted:

Letter of introduction from the home university.

Curriculum Vitae.

A letter explaining the reasons for choosing to study in Colombia and at Universidad del Rosario.

A letter from the home Faculty stating that the proposed subjects of study during the stay, are approved. Study plans and curricula can be found in our web page.

Transcripts of grades obtained until that date.
-
Certificate of proficiency in Spanish.
Confirmation of Admission
The Office of International Relations at Universidad del Rosario, will process the information and notify the result accordingly to the Office of International Relations of the home university.
Once the student is accepted, he/she will receive the following documents, which must be presented at the Colombian Consulate nearest home in order to obtain a student visa.

Letter from the Rector, certifying that the candidate has been accepted in the student exchange program.

Certificate of having been admitted from the Office of Admissions .

Legal certification of the existence and legal standing of Universidad del Rosario, issued by the Ministry of Education, as required by Colombian authorities.

Copy of the academic cooperation agreement between the two universities.

Letter of presentation from Universidad del Rosario to the Colombian Consulate.
Other forms included to be filled out:

The application form must be sent to Fax (57) (1) 3419060 and on arrival taken to the Office of Admissions along with. 3 photographs (color) 3 by 4 centimeters .

2 photocopies of the sections of the passport that contain his/her picture, identification and visa.

2 photocopies of the student visa .

2 photocopies of the "Cédula de Extranjería" which is the document identifying foreign visitors who will stay for a length of time in Colombia , in this case as a student.
Before traveling to Colombia
The student must get in touch with the Office of International Relations to inform:

Name of Airline, number of flight and time of arrival. A representative from Universidad del Rosario will be at the airport.

If provisional hotel reservations near Universidad del Rosario are desired, while the student chooses a lodging.

The amount of money intended for lodging expenses, to have some options ready for the student to decide, upon arrival.
On arrival at El Dorado Airport
Immigration authorities from the Administrative Department of Security, DAS, will ask for the documents, which must be on hand to be shown, certifying admission as an exchange student at Universidad del Rosario. This having been done, they will stamp the passport.
Steps to formalize your stay in Colombia and at Rosario
On the first week-day after arriving, the student must come to the Office of International Relations, Edificio Cabal, Office 505, Carrera 6 # 14- 16 in order to receive orientation on the procedures for his stay. It is necessary to bring the passport along.
Registration: one of the students who work in this office, will accompany him/her to the Admissions Office for this purpose.
Medical insurance is offered by Universidad del Rosario and must be acquired. The cost is approximately $80,000 Colombian pesos.
The student must then go to his/her own Faculty and meet the Dean, or whomever has been designated to welcome him/her. Appointments will be ready with the Director of the Program, the tutor assigned and the academic secretary to complete the necessary arrangements for the first semester or duration of the stay .
Inscription of the subjects chosen and accepted by the tutor.
Attendance to first-day activities for new students and exchange students as well, which provides them with first-hand information about the University and the student services offered.
Attendance to first day of the academic year at the student's Faculty, as indicated by the tutor, where all the information concerning the semester just begun, will be imparted.
Legalizing the stay in Colombia
A student from the Office of International Relations will accompany the exchange student to the Immigration Office at DAS headquarters in order to inform them of his/her arrival and to acquire the Cédula de Extranjería, which is the identification document valid during the lenght of time spent in Colombia. The cost is approximately $80.000 Colombian pesos.

Foreign students are expected to present themselves at their Embassy. The Office of International Relations will help you to set up an appointment.
