WORKINNOVA 2015 English Version

For the first time in Bogota, we organize the workshop WORKINNOVA, which has been conducted annually since 2012 in Brazil and Colombia. WORKINNOVA is a pioneering and unique joint initiative from Danish and South American research groups and industry to bridge the gap between research and their industrial applications with the aim to tackle social relevant problems and generate new business.
The lectures will be given by researcher from Colombia, Denmark, Brazil and Ireland, as well as agents of governmental institutions and business experts in innovation, social and business development.
Our focus will be issues related to science and biomedical engineering, the future of mobile and wireless technologies and workshop in problem solutions, creativity and innovations process.

LECTURERS

Idelfonso Tafur Monroy is currently a Professor and the Head of the Metro-Access and Short Range Systems group of the Department of Photonics Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. He graduated from the Bonch-Bruevitch Institute of Communications, St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1992, where he received a M.Sc. degree in multichannel telecommunications. In 1996 he received a Technology Licentiate degree in telecommunications theory from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. In the same year he joined the Electrical Engineering Department of the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, where he earned a Ph.D. degree in 1999 and worked as an Assistant Professor until 2006. He has participated in several European research framework projects in photonic technologies and their applications to communication systems and networks. At the moment he is involved in the ICT European projects GigaWaM and EURO-FOS and is the technical coordinator of the CHRON project. His research interests are in hybrid optical–wireless communication systems, high-capacity optical fiber communications, digital signal processing for optical transceivers for baseband and radio-over-fiber links, application of nanophotonic technologies in the metropolitan and access segments of optical networks as well as in short range optical–wireless communication links

José Alejandro Cheyne García, dean of de business school of Universidad del Rosario, is Doctor of Pedagogy from UPAEP University, Mexico; Economist and Specialist in Business Administration and University Teaching at the Universidad del Rosario; Before joining the University, he served as Rector of Fundación Universitaria Empresarial de la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá (Uniempresarial. He was Vice-Dean of the School of Economics of the University Sergio Arboleda, Director of Business Advisory Unit of Universidad del Rosario and Coordinator of Specialization in the Sabana University. He has achieved throughout his career the following awards:

Professional in Social-Communication and Journalism with Emphasis in Business Communication from Universidad Externado de Colombia; PhD in Communication Sciences of the Faculty of Information Sciences and Political Sciences at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and the Spanish Center for Latin American Studies (CEDEAL).
Academic pair of the National Intersectoral Commission for Quality Assurance in Higher Education - CONACES and the National Accreditation Council - CNA programs for undergraduate and graduate adviser and Higher Education - MEN. Doctor of Philosophy of Education, the Interagency Program in Education, National Pedagogical University Bogota-Colombia. It has a high vocation and experience in the management and administration of educational projects related to cyberculture, the tics, and research and experimentation in the area of digital culture in education. Currently he is a professor, researcher and director of Medusa Media Lab., School of Communication Sciences, Universidad Sergio Arboleda. It was decando of the Faculty of Education and Hunamidades University Foundation Unipanamericana - Offset, peer evaluator for research at Masters and Doctorate COLCIENCIAS Consultant for the creation of the career of Digital Design, Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Pontifical level Javeriana University, career Digital Communication, Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Universidad Sergio Arboleda. He has been Director of laboratory research and experimentation in digital culture. Lab Com - Instituti of Social and Cultural Rights think, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

Carlos was born in Bogota, Colombia. In 2004, he received the BSc degree in Electronic Engineering from Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería (ECI-Colombia), where he received the grade of honor, awarded to the highest GPA of his class. He received his Specialization in Project Management in 2006 at ECI. From 2006 to 2011 he worked as a professor and a researcher in hardware development and embedded systems. In 2011, he obtained his M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Entre Ríos, Argentina. As a continuation of his master’s dissertation, he developed a Sensor-based biomechanical kinematics monitoring system for physical rehabilitation, with this project, he was one of the 10 finalist at the Make It Challenge: Kinetis MCUs Americas sponsored by Freescale semiconductors. In 2012, he joined the Robotics and Industrial Automation Group at Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES-Brazil) to pursue the Ph.D. degree. He developed a part of his thesis at Automation Institute, (UNSJ-Argentina) and at Neural and Cognitive Engineering group, CAR, (UPM-CSIC-Spain). His Ph.D. thesis (2015) focused on development a multimodal human-robot interface that provides a means of testing and validating control strategies for robotic walkers for assisting human mobility and gait rehabilitation. Currently, He is a Postdoctoral Researcher at UFES.
He is broadly interested in wearable sensors, human-robot interaction and rehabilitation robotics. He has also conducted research on hardware and software development for robotics, medical images and signal processing.
Biologist at the Javeriana University, Doctor of Engineering Systems and Computing at the National University of Colombia. He has experience in data analysis for scientific research projects and the productive sector particularly on issues such as biological and medical sciences, biotechnology, information technology and information, free culture and the issues of e-learning, the use of information technology in education. Interested intellectual property, identify, protect and negotiate IP Surveillance technology, management, planning, construction and closure of projects related to ICT and digital culture.

Mathematician from Universidad de los Andes, Bogota, Colombia, graduated in 2006. Winner of a grant from the European Community in the Erasmus Mundus masters program: ALGANT in algebra, geometry and number theory at University of Bordeaux I, France (2007) and Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy (2008). In November 2011 she obtained her PhD in applied mathematics, in the area of post-quantum cryptography from Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU). In 2012 she was a postdoctoral researcher at the laboratory GREYC Université de Caen Normandie, France in the AMMAC team. In 2013 she was a postdoctoral researcher at the department of mathematics at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota. Since January 2014 she is assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia. Her research areas of interest are cryptography, coding theory and its applications.
