Knowledge and Innovation Management Centre

Presentation
The mission of the Universidad del Rosario Knowledge and Innovation Management Centre (CGCI, for its initials in Spanish) is to implement research and teaching programmes relating to knowledge and innovation as essential elements in the development of a learned society in Colombia.
In realising its mission, the CGCI has carried out research in innovation management and other aspects of scientific and technological development, seeking to strengthen knowledge systems and their social appropriation processes, which contribute to Colombia's socio-economic development and the well-being of its people.
The University has an important tradition of teaching and research programmes undertaken by several of its faculties in this area. The projects of the Centre are implemented in close collaboration with the University’s faculties, making it possible to organise inter-disciplinary groups for research and university extension projects.
The CGCI Work Programme covers three major subjects:
- New technologies, innovation, productivity and competitiveness.
- Information and communication technologies, social capital development and empowerment of the community: community information technology and new types of citizenship.
- Knowledge and knowledge management systems in contemporary societies.
