Council
The members of the Council are the Rector, who is its Chairman, the Councillors and a representative of the Scholar Prefects. It is the principal governing body of Rosario University, which advises the Rector on all aspects of his functions, protects the possessions of the institution, and approves the annual income and expenditures budget.
There are five Councillors, chosen for a four year term by an electoral body, whose members are the Rector and the fifteen Scholar Prefects, Councillors may be re-elected indefinitely. The Council is responsible, together with the Scholar Prefects, for electing the Rector.
The present Councillors are:

Rector

The Rector is democratically elected by the Scholar Prefects and the Councillors for a four-year-term, starting on the 24th October of each election year; he may be re-elected for two consecutive terms.
The present Rector is Hans-Peter Knudsen-Quevedo, first elected on the 18 November 2002; he was re-elected on 23 June 2006 to a term ending on the 24 October 2010. He was a Scholar Prefect himself and graduated from the Business Administration Faculty, with a speciality in University Teaching. He held the positions of Dean of his faculty and Vice Rector of the University. He has also studied University Management at Harvard University and at the Inter-American University Organisation (Quebec and Santiago de Chile).
