Workshop
We will host the Bogotá Experimental Economics Workshop from January 7th to the 9th (prior to the Conference) at Universidad del Rosario. The aim of the Workshop is to expand research tools by providing theoretical background and hands-on training on areas related to experimental economics research. This year we will hold two simultaneous tracks: the track “Toolbox for the Experimental Economist”, recommended for those applicants with a basic knowledge of experimental economics; and the track “Biological Tools in Experimental Economics”, recommended for those applicants with special interest in exploring the underlying biological processes of economic decision making using experiments. In addition, there will be also common single-track sessions, with a more “hands-on” approach.
The track “Toolbox for the Experimental Economist” includes sessions on pro-sociality, social norms, gender, motivated and self-serving beliefs, multilateral bargaining, etc. The track “Biological Tools in Experimental Economics” includes sessions on introductory neuroeconomics, interpretation of choice- process data, Bayesian cognition, facial cues, and experiments in the light of evolutionary game theory. Workshop faculty include Diego Aycinena, Mariana Blanco, Cesar Mantilla, Santiago Sautua, Silvia Lopez and Stanislao Maldonado (U Rosario), Santiago Alonso (U Javeriana), Zack Grossman (FSU), Kristian López (UCSC), Andrzej Baranski (NYU-AD), Maria Recalde (U Melbourne), Urs Fischbacher (U Konstanz & TWI) and Lise Vesterlund (U of Pittsburgh).
We invite graduate students (PhD and Master’s level) and junior faculty to apply for the workshop. The fee for attending the 2.5-day Workshop is 150 USD. This fee includes their participation in the Conference (conference dinners not included) and the opportunity to present during the poster session at the conference.
