Congress information

The Center for Autoimmune Diseases Research (CREA) of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Universidad del Rosario and the Colombian Association of Immunology invite to the Second Colombian Congress on Autoimmunity, #COLCA2020, which will have a multidisciplinary approach, with the participation of national and international speakers, leaders in their field.  COLCA2020 will feature the presentation of original works and a space for the exchange of ideas and the creation of cooperation networks.

The Congress will take place from August 20 to 22, 2020, and will be held at theHyatt Hotelin Bogota, Colombia.

Why participate in COLCA2020?

1. To be up to date on immunology and autoimmunity, from the basics, the main clinical aspects and the treatment of the main autoimmune diseases.

2. To know the national and international experts on the topics that will be discussed during the Congress and be part of a multidisciplinary audience that includes internal medicine, pediatrics, immunology, genetics and rheumatology.

3. To present and discuss their research findings at an international congress and participate in the selection of research papers and awards, which will be selected for publication in the Journal of Translational Autoimmunity.

Program Presentation

Autoimmune diseases can be considered as an internal enemy, since the immune system "gets confused" and attacks the body itself. These diseases are frequent and their number is increasing, probably associated to environmental exposure of susceptible individuals. These diseases represent a heterogeneous group of disorders that target specific organs or multiple organ systems. The chronic nature of these diseases places a significant burden on the utilization of medical care, increases direct and indirect economic costs, and diminishes quality of life.

Publication: The abstracts will be published in MEDICINA, the official journal of the Colombian National Academy of Medicine. Selected lectures including the top selected abstracts will be published in the Journal of Translational Autoimmunity.

Simultaneous translation: The lectures will be in both English and Spanish. However, there will be permanent simultaneous translation.
