Antonio del Liso performed his undergraduate studies in Geography, has an MSc in Environmental Sciences (París 7), a PhD in Architecture and Urban Planning (Universidad Central de Venezuela), and is a graduate fellow of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO - SIDA). He has served as a Professor at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), as an associate researcher with UCV’s Center for Development Studies, and as the Coordinator of the Colombia-Venezuela research network in Venezuela (UCV’s Center for Studies of Latin America). Professor del Liso has also served as President of the Venezuelan Institute of Social and Political Studies (INVESP), is a member of the Latin American Social and Ecological Transformation work group (FES Mexico) and of the Security Observatory (FES Venezuela), has served as Coordinator of the Climate Justice-Environmental Governance work group at CLASCO, and was the General Secretary of the Association of Amazonian Universities (2000-2003). He has been a guest lecturer at universities throughout Latin America, Europe and Canada and has worked as a Consultant for the OAS, European Union, UN, the Ministry of Planning and Development (Venezuela) and PDVSA (Venezuela’s state-owned oil and natural gas company).
