The Practice of Law in the Digital Era

The practice of law in the 21st century requires, in addition to a solid ethical and academic foundation, a good knowledge of digital trends and tools. In recent times, there has been discussion of the potential impact of emerging technologies on legal practice. For example, different functions currently conducted by legal professionals can be taken on by computer systems programmed to analyze information and achieve faster and more accurate results. Authors such as Richard Susskind in his work "Tomorrow's Lawyers. An Introduction to Your Future ", start from the basis that technology and the digital revolution essentially modify the practice of law, its vision, its administration and even its pedagogy. In the era of the 4.0 revolution from the perspective of the Faculty of Jurisprudence it is important that digital pedagogy and the development of the skills required by professionals who will be practicing law in the future be strengthened, so that they can manage and implement emerging technologies as they carry out their profession.
