3. Migratory process:
   1. Exchange program of one (1) semester (180 days):
      For less-than-six-month stays (180 days), you do not need a student visa to enter the country.* Upon entering the country, a Colombian immigration agent will place an Entrance and Permanence Permit (PIP) stamp on your passport.
      1. What is the PIP-Entrance and Permanence Permit stamp?
         1. It is the authorization Migración Colombia grants to a foreigner who does not require a visa to enter Colombian territory. Initially, this stamp has a 90-day validity; then, it can be renewed for another 90 days, up to a maximum of 180 days per calendar year.
            *Check if your nationality allows you to enter the country without a visa.
   2. Exchange program of two (2) semesters (more than 180 days):
      Students must apply for a type V visa (academic exchange, studies in arts or crafts, and graduate studies) or a type M visa (elementary, middle, or high school and undergraduate students).
