General Information

The Research Ethics Committee is an independent, plural, and multidisciplinary body, whose responsibility is to ensure compliance with the ethical aspects of the research carried out in the different academic units of the institution.

Universidad del Rosario initiated the Committee’s activities in 2001, which was attached to the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. As part of the process of growth and listening to the needs of researchers, the coverage of the Ethics Committee was expanded. Thus, a Social Sciences room was created, a space dedicated to the analysis and discussion of research projects related to this area.

All research projects submitted for evaluation by the Ethics Committee will be initially reviewed by the Technical Secretariat. There, a decision will be made on which committee room is the most relevant for its evaluation, as well as the review mechanism: expedited or in a full committee session.
