He has worked as the General Secretary and Legal Representative of Colsubsidio for 27 years. He has also been a member of the Steering Committee, the Management and Information Committee, and the Digital Transformation and Innovation Committee at the same company. He is a professor of Corporate Strategy and Behavioral Economics at various universities nationwide.

He has a degree in Economics and a doctorate degree in Management Science from the Universidad del Rosario, a graduate diploma in Finance from the Universidad de los Andes, and a DBA from SMC University (Switzerland). He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Economics. He has worked as a consultant, project manager, and an executive in higher education institutions. He is the founder of the MBA and co-creator of the Rosario Graduate School of Business. He is president of the Academic Committee of the Securities Market Self-regulator and a member of the Administration Committee of Colfuturo. He was honored as Distinguished Professor and received the Juan Agustín Uricoechea and Navarro Teaching Excellence award. He is a member of international professional networks such as Microeconomics of Competitiveness at Harvard Business School, the American Finance Association, and the Royal Economic Society.

She has a degree in Economics from the Universidad del Rosario, and postgraduate degrees in Corporate Finance from CESA and in Senior Management from the Universidad de los Andes. She has over 20 years of experience within the Santander Group, including 7 years of international experience, during which she has worked in various leadership and management roles.

She was the first female Country Head of the Santander Group in Latin America, and has held various positions such as Financial Controller, Control and Management Lead, Financial Vice President, and Vice President of Financing, Human Resource Management and Administration. She is currently the Executive President of Santander Bank Colombia. In her role, she leads various projects at Santander Bank, such as supporting the Universia university platform, and the Prospera program which supports the development of startups and economic growth in the country.

Merlín Patricia Grueso Hinestroza

UR STEAM Director

Tenured Professor at the School of Administration, UR STEAM Director. She has doctorate degrees in Social Psychology from the Universidad de Salamanca and in Psychology from the Pontifica Universidad Javeriana de Cali. She is a professor in doctoral, master's, and undergraduate programs, both nationally and internationally. In 2017, she was awarded the Teaching Excellence award by the Universidad del Rosario for her performance in this field. She is a member of the Interdisciplinary Study Group on Conflict and Peace (JANUS) at the Universidad del Rosario. She is classified as a senior researcher in the Colciencias System, and in 2017 she was recognized by Colciencias as best research professor with the José Francisco Socarrás award.

Her research projects on equality of opportunity between men and women, the inclusion of socially disadvantaged individuals in the labor market, and corporate social responsibility have earned her scholarships awarded by the Asociación Universitaria Iberoamericana de Postgrado (AUIP), Colciencias, and the Fundación Carolina. She has also received funding from the Universidad del Rosario and the Universidad de Salamanca to carry out her research projects. She has completed research residencies in universities such as Northeastern University, Universidad de Salamanca, Universidad Jaume I de Castellón, and Universidad de Chile.

Alberto Fergusson Bermúdez

Tenured Professor at the Center for Psychosocial Studies Universidad del Rosario

Alberto Fergusson Bermúdez is a Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst who graduated from the Universidad del Rosario and has been a counselor at the same university since 2011. He is the founder and director of the Instituto de Autorehabilitación Acompañada y Fungrata in Colombia, and of the FAS (Foundation for the Advancement of Accompanied Self-rehabilitation) in the United States, organizations which are dedicated to mental health research, assistance, and teaching. He described and first used the Theory of Accompanied Self-rehabilitation, a technique which enables the rehabilitation of individuals with severe mental illness. After undergoing rigorous evaluation at Yale University, it is now used in various rehabilitation centers in America and Europe. He served as head of mental health at the Secretaría de Salud de Bogotá (Bogotá Health Secretariat), and also served as a technical coordinator within the same organization. As the medical director of Caprecom, he was first to succeed in incorporating the psychological component into regular medical practice, as well as implementing systematized medical records. He has been renowned activist in support of defending the rights of the sick, particularly the mentally ill. His abilities in social entrepreneurship and innovation made him one of the first Colombians to achieve the status of Ashoka Fellow, an organization which is dedicated to identifying and promoting social entrepreneurs.

He has been a professor at the Universidad del Rosario, Universidad Javeriana, Universidad de los Andes, Universidad Católica, and in the Escuela Colombiana de Rehabilitación, where he was a member of the University Superior Council for more than twenty-five years. He is currently a professor at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Universidad del Rosario. A national and international lecturer, he has published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, and recently, two books.

He is a member of the board of directors of the WAPR (World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation) and was its vice president until 2018. A key advocate of the Colombian peace process, he was a member of the government delegation in the talks with the ELN. He is a regular guest lecturer at universities in Colombia, the United States, and Europe.

Manuel Velasco Durán

Collegian of Distinction

He is a double major student in Jurisprudence and Musical Theater. He earned himself a place as a collegian in March 2022, and is a member of the Debating Society, through which he has represented the university in both regional and national tournaments.

He is a member of the Semillero de Creación de Teatro Musical, and of the Choir of the Bogotá Symphony Orchestra Foundation. He worked as an academic monitor for the Constitutional Law and Theater classes.

He is a fan of art and its impact on contemporary societies.
